Canine Detection Team

As a leader in the industry, MSA Security® recognizes today’s most prominent threats, which include the rise of active and mass shooter incidents and the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). An effective solution requires a layered security plan, including the successful utilization of canines trained specifically for explosive and firearms detection. MSA Canine Detection Teams are experienced, certified and proven – receiving extensive and continued operational training that focuses on a wide variety of deployment specialties. This program is led by one of the best teams in the nation.

An Experienced Explosive Detection Team

MSA Security is the largest private provider of explosive and firearms detection canines. In addition to MSA's Director of Canine Training and master trainers, MSA employs an industry-recognized forensic explosive chemist to ensure that teams are imprinted and trained on odors to address current and emerging threats. The MSA training team also includes experienced bomb technicians, dog training professionals and veterinarians who deliver ongoing care to the fleet

Carefully Selected and Trained Bomb Dogs and Handlers

Every MSA canine is carefully selected from sporting breeds, like Labradors and German Shepherds, with an impressive level of socialization and a superior sense of smell, strong drive, intelligence, stable temperament and eagerness to please. All MSA firearms and explosive detection canine handlers carry notable military and law enforcement backgrounds. MSA canines and handlers form an unrivaled team. They are well prepared to detect the threat of explosives or firearms in active environments like city streets, sports stadiums, office buildings, airports, healthcare and education campuses, retail malls and more.
