MSA Becomes MSA Security
NEW YORK, NY, March 31, 2011 – Michael Stapleton Associates (MSA), a specialized security company that serves as an industry leader in high consequence threat protection, announced today its name change to MSA Security. The MSA name has been synonymous for nearly 25 years with explosive detection screening operations, primarily explosive detection canines. Over the years, the company’s employees, services, and footprint have expanded tremendously. The name MSA Security is a reflection of these changes and the substantial growth expected in the near future.

MSA Security continues to offer the largest privately owned bomb dog program in the United States, and has expanded this operation abroad. Its explosive detection screening operation, SmartTech, has broadened its reach and capability to allow x-ray screeners worldwide to have immediate contact with certified bomb technicians in a new renovated, state-of-the-art 24/7 emergency operations center (EOC), utilizing high-speed audio and video communications. The SmartChem chemical monitoring system is also part of the EOC, as is increased staffing to monitor and disseminate emerging threat information and emergency communications.
Expanded MSA Security services include highly specialized and customized training programs and operations in Maritime Security, Counterterrorism and Intelligence Analysis, and Tactical and Emergency Service Operations offered domestically and internationally. MSA Security’s consulting program has grown into a comprehensive unit of risk and vulnerability assessments, physical security design, complete security systems design and integration, continuity of operations planning, and security program audits. All of MSA Security’s operations and deployments are supported by an experienced Intelligence Analysis team located in New York City and Abu Dhabi. Additionally, MSA Security continues to specialize in special event and executive protection security planning and management as well as investigative services.
The MSA team is comprised of 500 employees, who are retired and active officers and officials from the Emergency Service Unit, Bomb Squad, Harbor Patrol, SCUBA and Air Sea Rescue, and Counterterrorism units of the New York City Police Department, as well as officials from federal and state law enforcement agencies and military organizations.
