MSA Security Opens Office in the National Capital Region
NEW YORK, NY, July 1, 2009 – MSA Security, a specialized security company that serves as an industry leader in high consequence threat protection, announced today it has opened an office in the National Capital Region. This new office location advances MSA Security’s presence as a leading provider of explosive detection operations and consulting services and will support many of the company’s strategic global initiatives.
“As the momentum for MSA Security’s government contracts continues in Washington DC, it is essential to have an office presence to enhance our communications and operations in the area,” said MSA President Michael E. O’Neil.
Michael Hayes, who will serve as Director, National Capital Region, will be based in Virginia. Mike has 27 years of government service and retired from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives as a Deputy Chief of the National Center for Explosives Training and Research. As Deputy Chief, Mike led four groups consisting of Canine Training and Operational Support Center, Explosives Training Branch, International Training Branch and Arson Training Branch. He also leveraged partnerships to further essential initiatives such as the National Explosives Detection Canine Advisory Board, where he served as the co-chair. Mike directed training and operations among federal, state, local and international agencies, and led and developed strategic organizational change and implementation with respect to Homeland Security and National Security Presidential Directives. He has also served as a Special Response Team (SRT) operator, Entry Team Leader, Team Supervisor in the Special Operations community, ultimately serving as On-Scene Commander during numerous SRT high-risk tactical operations. Mike is a former Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps and a Gulf War veteran. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from California State College, Bakersfield and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Johns Hopkins University.
