MSA Security Creates New HSS+ Program
NEW YORK, NY, February 14, 2011 – MSA Security, a specialized security company that since 1987 has served as an industry leader in high consequence threat protection, has expanded its Hostile Surveillance Specialist (HSS) Program to include an active shooter component, due to the recent trend of shooting incidents. The program has a new name, HSS+, to reflect the extent of its operational capabilities.
“The HSS+ program is designed to assist our clients with some of the most complex security issues and threats in the industry today,” says Vice President, Consulting Services Patrick Devlin. “The HSS+ operative is a highly trained, experienced surveillance detection expert who provides tactical protection, combining on-the-ground observational skills with focused intelligence analysis.”
The HSS+ program is designed to detect, deter, and defeat terrorist activity that occurs prior to the execution of an attack; specifically the preoperational surveillance that operatives conduct to determine whether a facility is vulnerable to attack, and if so, which attack methodology would ensure the highest probability of success. These activities include hostile surveillance activities by terrorists, criminals, or other threat vectors. The HSS+ operative is a trained observer that is well versed in counter-surveillance techniques and briefed on the security threat. The HSS+ operative is armed and physically capable of immediately responding to any hostile attack at a facility. The HSS is supported by MSA Security’s Intelligence Analysis (IA) team, who offers intelligence analysis and a detailed understanding of the current threat environment. MSA Security’s program is overseen by senior managers with decades of law enforcement, counterterrorism, and countersurveillance expertise.
