Al Qaeda Releases Statement Confirming Osama bin Laden's Death
Breaking news at this time reports that al Qaeda has allegedly issued its first confirmation of bin Laden’s death in a statement posted on a jihadist website. The statement, pictured here, was signed by “the general leadership” of al Qaeda. Below is an excerpt taken from the four-page statement:
“We stress that the blood of the holy warrior sheik, Osama bin Laden, God bless him, is precious to us and to all Muslims and will not go in vain… We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries… Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness. Their blood will be mingled with their tears.”
The statement has not been fully authenticated at this time, but was posted on an Internet forum where al Qaeda traditionally releases its messages.
Additionally, the group has stated its intentions of releasing an audiotape allegedly recorded by bin Laden a week before his death.
