The MTA made several announcements today regarding mass transit services.  For additional information and updates, please visit www.mta.info.  Also, please be advised that Mayor Bloomberg announced yesterday that the HOV restrictions on bridges entering Manhattan will notresume on Monday, November 5 unless deemed necessary.

Subway Service

As of this morning, 80% of the New York City subway system is up and running.  The latest updates regarding subway service include:

  • The 4, 5 and 6 trains are now running between the Bronx and Brooklyn.
  • The 7 train is now running between Queens and Manhattan.
  • Staten Island Railway (SIR) will operate limited hourly service between St. George and Tottenville.

There are still some subway lines without service below 34th Street.  Please be sure to check the MTA website for up-to-the-minute information regarding subway service.

Long Island Rail Road

  • LIRR has restored hourly weekend service (Saturday, November 3 & Sunday, November 4) to the LIRR’s four largest branches (Port Washington, Ronkonkoma, Babylon and Huntington) to Penn Station.  Please check the MTA website for specific schedule information.

Metro North Railroad

Beginning on Monday, November 5:

  • On the Harlem Line, train service will resume on the Wassaic Branch. Regularly scheduled service is in effect between Southeast and Grand Central Terminal. 
  • On the New Haven Line, train service will resume on the Danbury and Waterbury Branches.
  • The New Canaan Branch will have bus service in effect, with buses leaving stations 20 minutes before the scheduled train time.

 

Bridges & Tunnels

  • The Queens Midtown and Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) remain closed at this time.
