September 11th holds significant meaning for us at MSA. Many of our employees were first responders to the attacks. Today we thank them for their sacrifices and honor the heroes we lost.

Commemorative Events in NYC

9/11 Memorial Plaza Ceremony:  The Memorial Plaza will be closed to the public the morning of September 11th to host a closed ceremony for family members of the victims. The ceremony, which will be televised, will include six moments of silence beginning at 8:39am marking the moments when the Towers were struck, when they fell, when the Pentagon was attacked, and when Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. The ceremony will also include a reading of names of victims from the 1993 and 2001 attacks.

The Little Chapel That Stood: St. Paul’s Chapel, an Episcopal Church located 1 block from the World Trade Center Site, will hold a 10:00am memorial service. A Peace Mass will be held at 12:30pm. At 1:00pm, the West Point Band and West Point Glee Club will participate in the "Concerts at One" series, performing "A Celebration of the City."

Tribute in Light:  The Memorial Plaza will reopen to the public at 3:00pm. Two beams of blue light, symbolizing the Twin Towers will be illuminated from 3:00pm – 12:00am. The 9/11 Memorial, located at 200 Liberty St., 16th floor, will be open to the public for a special viewing of "Tribute in Light."

Concert: A Concert will be held at Café Vivaldi, 32 Jones Street. The event is free, but donations will go to Friends of the Firefighters, a nonprofit organization founded after September 11th, 2001. Donations will address the physical, mental health, and wellness needs of New York City’s firefighters and their families.

Commemorative Events on Long Island

Remembrance by the Sea: A service will be held at Point Lookout Beach at 7:30am. The memorial is free and all are invited.

North Hempstead Memorial Service: The Town of North Hempstead will hold a Memorial Service at Mary Jane Davies Green located on Plandome Road in Manhasset. The event is free to the public and all are invited.

Commemorative Events in New Jersey

Asbury Park Concert: The Alliance Singers, featuring Michelle Moore of the E-Street Band will be performing at 7pm at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the 9/11 Tribute Center.

Memorial Stair Climb: The City of Bridgeton Fire Department will be hosting a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Bridgeton Housing Authority from 8:00am – 1:00pm.
