MSA Security's Megan Leavey, a retired Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, is campaigning to adopt Rex, a 10-year-old German Shepherd who was her partner in Iraq. While serving in September 2006, an explosion injured both Rex and Megan.
Megan was discharged in December 2007, but Rex remained in service. Rex later develped an illness, and his future with the military is unknown at this time. Megan continues her campaign to adopt Rex so he can spend his remaining years reunited with his partner.
