MSA Intel Alert: Israel-Palestine Update December 14

Demonstrations relating to Israel and Palestine continued in North America and select other locations over the past 24 hours. In Adana, Turkey, an armed man opened fire at a Starbucks location while shouting about the conflict. No injuries were reported, and the suspect is in custody. In Geelong, Australia, demonstrators threw red paint on the facade of Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles’ office. In Los Angeles, CA, police arrested 75 people for blocking traffic on the 110 freeway for approximately one hour in the downtown area. In Arlington, VA, demonstrators gathered outside of Raytheon Headquarters, briefly blocking the street. No arrests or clashes were reported. Notable demonstrations also occurred at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY and at the San Francisco Unified School District offices in San Francisco, CA. Demonstrations will likely continue at high-visibility locations, such as government buildings, public events, and major thoroughfares. These demonstrations will likely result in arrests or clashes between law enforcement and counter-demonstrators. Demonstrations will likely continue to disrupt business operations, supply chains, distribution centers, and vehicular transportation near high-traffic buildings.
