Demonstrations relating to Israel and Palestine continued in North America and select other locations over the past 24 hours. In Washington, D.C., the Capitol Police arrested approximately 60 individuals for demonstrating inside the Capitol Rotunda. The Mennonite Action Movement held a nationwide demonstration, holding events outside the offices of several politicians. Notable demonstrations associated with this event occurred in the following locations: Harrisonburg, VA outside of Representative Ben Cline’s office; Cedar Rapids, IA, outside of Senator Joni Ernst’s office; Wichita, KS outside the offices of Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall; and Denver, CO outside of Senator John Hickenlooper’s office. No arrests or clashes associated with this nationwide event were reported. Demonstrations will likely continue at high-visibility locations, such as government buildings, residences of political figures, public events, and major thoroughfares. These demonstrations will likely result in arrests or clashes between law enforcement and counter-demonstrators. Demonstrations will likely disrupt vehicular transportation near high-traffic buildings and have the potential to disrupt business operations and supply chains.

MSA Intel will continue to monitor the situation and provide relevant updates.

  • Do not engage with demonstrators as this could escalate the situation.
  • Follow all directions from authorities and law enforcement.
  • Monitor local news for reports of demonstrations or other disruptions
  • Monitoring social media or online forums and acting upon credible threats and trends will allow security details and site managers to adequately prepare to deter any threats.

    • Procuring additional security assets to augment existing teams.
    • Conducting security system tests to ensure all systems are fully operational.
    • Creating an evacuation plan in the event of widespread civil unrest or other events that could jeopardize safety.
    • Reviewing key control and all emergency protocols with members of the organization.
    • Reviewing cyber best practices (ensuring systems have the most current updates, compatible devices use multi-factor authentication, etc.) with members across the organization.
