Demonstrations relating to Israel and Palestine continued in North America and select other locations over the past 24 hours. In New York, NY clashes and arrests occurred as demonstrators sought to disrupt the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Rockefeller Center. Demonstrators gathered on 6th avenue before attempting to breach barricades to the event, resulting in police using pepper spray. In East Lansing, MI, demonstrators gathered outside of the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center during Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg’s visit. Several demonstrators rushed the stage during his speech and one individual was arrested. In Castro Valley, CA, demonstrators marched to Congressman Eric Swalwell’s office, although no arrests were reported. Other notable demonstrations were reported in San Francisco, Detroit, and Washington, DC. Organizers will likely continue to plan events at high-visibility locations, such as government buildings, large public events, and major thoroughfares through the foreseeable future. These demonstrations could likely result in clashes with law enforcement and counter-demonstrators. Demonstrations will likely continue to disrupt business operations, supply chains, distribution centers, and vehicular transportation at high-traffic buildings.

MSA Intel will continue to monitor the situation and provide relevant updates.
