Demonstrations relating to Israel and Palestine were reported in several cities across North America, Europe, and Australia over the past 24 hours. In Glasgow, Scotland, demonstrators held a “sit in” at the Queen Street train station, although they did not block rail traffic. In Australia, police arrested four people for blocking a busy intersection near the Flemington racecourse before the Melbourne Cup. One man died after sustaining a head injury during clashes at a demonstration in Thousand Oaks, California; the autopsy revealed he died from blunt force trauma. Notable demonstrations also occurred at the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Port of Tacoma in Washington State, and the Louisiana State Capitol Building in Baton Rouge. Medium-to-large-sized demonstrations continue to be planned through this week, with nationwide events planned for Thursday, November 9th. Several upcoming protests are likely to disrupt vehicular transportation around government buildings and could result in clashes between law enforcement and counter-demonstrators.

MSA Intel will continue to monitor the situation and provide relevant updates.
