Demonstrations relating to Israel and Palestine were reported in several cities across North America and Europe over the past 24 hours. Clashes between demonstrators and counter-demonstrators occurred outside of the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California during a screening of a documentary regarding October 7th. Demonstrators in Evanston, IL shut down a road outside of Representative Jan Schakowsky’s residence for three hours, although no arrests or clashes were reported. In Edinburgh, Scotland, one demonstrator scaled the fence of the Scottish Parliament, although police reported no disruptions to the legislature. Many small-to-large sized demonstrations, walkouts, sit-ins, and other events are planned for today, November 9th in coordination with a nationwide “Shut It Down” event throughout the United States. Students and teachers in more than 100 New York City schools are planning to participate. Additional demonstrations are planned through the weekend and are likely to continue for the foreseeable future. These events have the potential to disrupt vehicular transportation around government buildings and could result in clashes between law enforcement and counter-demonstrators.

MSA Intel will continue to monitor the situation and provide relevant updates.
